This Privacy Policy describes how myfolder (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the mobile application myfolder (the “App”). We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Summary
- myfolder is a download utility. Download requests are processed locally on your device.
- We do not operate servers that collect, store, or share your download history, video URLs, or private files.
- The App may display ads through third-party networks (e.g., Google AdMob), which may collect limited, often anonymous device data for advertising purposes.
2. Scope
This policy applies to the App and related services provided by myfolder. It does not apply to third-party websites, services, or content that you access through the App. Those parties have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them.
3. Local download processing
myfolder is designed to help you initiate and manage downloads on your own device. When you enter a URL, browse a page, or choose content to download:
- Processing occurs on your device unless you explicitly use features that open external apps or system services (e.g., your default browser or the platform download manager).
- We do not transmit your download queue, download history, sniffed media links, or downloaded file contents to our own servers for storage, analytics, or sharing.
- Files you save remain under your control on your device or in storage locations you select, subject to your device’s operating system and permissions.
4. What we do not collect or store on our servers
We want to be explicit. myfolder does not, through the App, on our own infrastructure:
- Collect, store, or share your download history;
- Collect, store, or share video links, URLs, or media addresses you enter or detect while using the App;
- Collect, store, or share the contents of your private files or downloaded media;
- Build user profiles based on your browsing or downloading activity for sale to third parties.
If we ever introduce features that involve server-side processing of personal data, we will update this Privacy Policy and, where required, obtain your consent before such processing begins.
5. Information processed on your device
To provide core functionality, the App may process certain information locally on your device, such as:
- URLs and text you type into the in-app browser or download fields;
- Download task metadata (e.g., file name, progress, status) stored in local app storage;
- App settings and preferences you configure (e.g., language, theme, download folder choices permitted by the OS);
- Diagnostic or crash information stored locally or sent to platform providers (e.g., Google Play or Apple) if you opt in to share crash reports with developers through your device settings.
This locally processed information is used solely to operate the App on your device and is not uploaded to our servers for the purposes described in Section 4.
5.1 Optional communications
If you contact us by email or through a support form, we will receive the information you choose to provide (such as your email address and message content) solely to respond to your inquiry. We do not use support messages to build advertising profiles.
6. Third-party advertising
The App may integrate third-party advertising services, including but not limited to Google AdMob and other ad networks (collectively, “Advertising Partners”). These partners are independent controllers or processors of data under their own policies.
6.1 What Advertising Partners may collect
Advertising Partners may automatically collect certain information when ads are shown or interacted with, such as:
- Advertising ID (e.g., Google Advertising ID on Android, Identifier for Advertisers on iOS) and similar anonymous device identifiers;
- Device type, operating system version, language, and general location (e.g., country or region inferred from IP address);
- Ad interaction data (e.g., impressions, clicks);
- IP address (often processed in truncated or pseudonymized form by the partner).
This data is typically used to deliver, measure, and personalize ads, detect fraud, and comply with legal obligations. It is not used by us to access your download history or private files on our servers, as we do not host that data.
6.2 Your advertising choices
You can limit ad personalization through your device settings, for example:
- Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization (wording may vary by device).
- iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and/or Settings → Privacy → Apple Advertising.
You may also review Google’s ad settings at adssettings.google.com and Google’s privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
6.3 Legal basis (EEA/UK users)
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on your consent or our legitimate interests in funding the free App through advertising, balanced against your rights. You may withdraw consent for personalized advertising via device settings without affecting core download features that do not depend on ads.
7. Device permissions
Depending on your device and how you use the App, we may request permissions such as access to storage or media folders (to save downloads), network access (to fetch content you request), and notifications (to show download progress). You can revoke permissions in your device settings; some features may not work without them.
We request only permissions reasonably needed for features you use. We do not use permissions to read unrelated personal files for upload to our servers.
8. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited information only in these circumstances:
- Advertising Partners: as described in Section 6, subject to their policies;
- Service providers: trusted vendors who assist us with hosting a website, analytics of our marketing site (not your download content), or customer support—bound by confidentiality obligations;
- Legal requirements: if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request;
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice where required by law.
9. Data retention
Data stored locally on your device (e.g., download lists, settings) remains until you delete it, uninstall the App, or clear app data. We do not retain download history or media links on our servers because we do not collect them there.
Support emails are retained only as long as needed to resolve your request and meet legal obligations.
10. Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of the App. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. You are responsible for securing your device and account credentials.
11. Children’s privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at smallcaw78@gmail.com and we will take steps to delete it.
12. International users
myfolder may be located outside your country. Advertising Partners may process data in various countries. By using the App, you understand that information processed by third parties may be transferred internationally subject to their safeguards and applicable law.
13. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
- Access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you (e.g., support correspondence);
- Object to or restrict certain processing;
- Data portability, where applicable;
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
California residents may have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, and opt out of “sale” or “sharing” as defined by law. We do not sell download history or video links; ad partners’ use of advertising IDs may constitute “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising—use device opt-out settings described in Section 6.2.
To exercise your rights, contact us at smallcaw78@gmail.com. We may verify your request as permitted by law.
14. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version at https://myfolder.cc/privacy and update the “Last updated” date. Material changes may be notified in the App or by other appropriate means. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
